Do you have "Shiny Object Syndrome✨"?

Recap: In my last email,I showed you why I refunded one of the bakers who signed up for BBA, today I want to talk about the shiny object syndrome (my personal biggest enemy)

Yesterday in my Strategy Session inside Baker's Business Academy, I was reading A’s form.

And oh. my. God. 🤯 She had SUCH AMAZING IDEAS.

Like genuinely brilliant ones.

But her struggle was simple.
They were never executed on time.

Opportunities came. Ideas were written down. Plans were made. But then she would sit and refine her ideas, make it "better", no, PERFECT.

And then… nothing. Because perfectionism is a myth.

And in the end? She lost those opportunities. She ended up posting just 2x in the month! And you know what I said?

You can go back and archive/ delete/ hide "imperfect posts" that had a 50% chance of getting you an order. But you can't go back in time after Valentine's and make those posts that people can see. THIS bring your chances of getting an order to 0%. What would you choose?
And the truth is? What you find "perfect" today? You will find it cringe and stupid 6 months from now. So make the damn post anyway!

And here’s the uncomfortable truth.

Everyone has ideas. Ideas are invaluable.💖 But how many people actually execute them? Very, very few.

And THAT is what builds businesses. 🌱

WTF is Shiny Object Syndrome and do I have it?

Falling for the next "amazing" thing, and abandoning your current progress hoping this new thing is JUST what you need is called the "SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME". I’ve fallen for shiny object syndrome before. And I don’t want you to.

In my early days?
I spent money on things that looked impressive… and avoided the boring things that actually moved the needle.

And I see home bakers do this ALLLL the time.

It looks like:

✅ Doing a diploma just to “look legit.”
✅ Paying for Meta Verified because the blue tick feels important.
✅ Buying that big shiny stand mixer before your sales justify it.
✅ Dreaming about trademarking your name before even building a strong brand.

Have you invested in something like this that didn’t really pay you back? Be honest. We’ve ALL done it.

None of those things build your business.

They just make you feel productive… while you stay stuck.

These are WANTS. Not NEEDS.

You can get them later and your business will survive.

But when you compromise on NEEDS? That’s when your business suffers. 😖

What you actually NEED:

⚡ Real strategy.
⚡ Showing up at the RIGHT stalls with a strong plan.
⚡ Knowing how to price and position properly.
⚡ Investing in good ingredients and basic tools first.
⚡ Mentorship from someone who has already been through it all.

If you’re in that season where everything feels urgent and tempting and “maybe THIS will fix it?”… I get it SOOOOO much.

But please learn from me.

I know your money is limited 💰. Don’t pour it into things that look good on paper.

Pour it into your foundation.

And this is exactly why Baker’s Business Academy exists.

Not to just give you more ideas {even though strategy is a HUUUUUUUGE part of what we do inside, but so is PRIORITIZING based on just what your baby business needs!}. Not to give you more things to consume.

But to make sure you EXECUTE. ✨

Inside BBA, we don’t just talk strategy. We sit every month and ask:

What are we focusing on?
What are we NOT focusing on?
What is actually moving revenue?

Right now, BBA is honestly underpriced. I’m saying that openly.

The price goes up after 10 enrollments. And 7 out of those 10 spots are already gone.

That means only 3 more bakers get in at this price. ⏰

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your business, this is not the moment to buy another “nice looking” thing. This is the moment to invest in execution.

Because ideas don’t build businesses.

Execution does.

So Reader, my promise is this: if I don’t think I can help you, I will never take your money.

But if you’ve been waiting for the push to finally take your bakery seriously, this is it. Like I said, there will ALWAYS be something going on...but with BBA you can navigate even these circustances, because what’s the fun in using this support in “normal” circumstances?😅

⚡ Only 3 spots left at discounted price.
🎉 Prices go up soon!

Recap: My last email told you how to go from ₹350/kg tutti frutti tea cake to ₹350 per slice without a bigger oven👀, this one talks about how what it *really* takes to bake outstanding brownies that sell. Reader, you know I talk a lot about teaching eggless baking science - the why behind every ingredient, how batters behave, how to troubleshoot when things go wrong. I talk about helping home bakers build profitable businesses - consistent results, confident pricing, brownies that actually...

In my last email I talked about shiny object syndrome, today I want to talk about something I keep seeing with home bakers who are genuinely talented... and it is so close to invisible that most people never spot it until someone points directly at it. Hey Reader, if someone looked at your current product menu right now... would it look very different from every other home baker in your city? Vanilla sponge. Chocolate cake. Marble cake. Tutti frutti tea cake. Maybe a dry fruit one during...

Last email talked about how selling viral items might not be the right thing for you. Today I want to ask you a SERIOUS question about your customers: I hear this all the time: “But most people ask for discounts!” Let me tell you something : this isn’t a pricing problem. It’s a finding the right people problem. I’ve worked with hundreds of bakers over the years, and I can confidently say: there are home bakers charging their worth and being paid for it. I know because I’ve seen them do it....
